1.🍸 Build your brand

It might be tempting to go dark and conserve energy but this is an opportunity to humanise and let your followers see another part of your brand. The fact is, everyone is struggling, everyone is afraid. Changing your brand voice to one that is vulnerable and empathic, will mirror thoughts and feelings of your clients, giving them an outlet and a feeling of belonging.

2.🍸Keep updating

Research shows that brands who keep marketing (sensibly and respectfully) through times of hardship do see increased loyalty when they’re ready to hit the market again. Interestingly, businesses should also be ready for “revenge spending” a trend where consumers throw caution to the wind and celebrate the end of an unprecedented event by splurging on anything and everything to regain control.

3.🍸Be empathetic

The last thing you want is to start a controversial party in your comments section. So be human and show awareness. Do not argue. Want more info on this? Check out my instagram post on sense-checking your socials here.

4.🍸Give back

What can you do to help others that could drum up some positive PR? Whether it’s a story asking for followers to tag other small businesses, or combining forces with similar businesses to run a promotion or create content. This adds value to your brand by drumming up warm and fuzzy feelings.

Sigh, lockdowns may be around for a while yet. How have they affected your business? What have you done to keep your head above water? Let me know in the comments.
